The other day, I boarded the Peach (MM/JJP) neo. I liked the unexpectedly beaty startup sound and high-pitched spool-up sound.

I can see the attraction of the howl, but personally I've never been that fond of it, To me it feels like the engine is struggling to breathe (I know it's not). That said, I do love the Vulcan. I remember seeing them at airshows in days gone by, and wondering how it seemed so big and slow and graceful and still stayed in the air. And what it did in the Falklands was legendary.

I like the JT8D sound because it sounds more real and when it takes off as it flies up towards the sky, it creates more thunderous sounds. That sort of sound is phenomenal!

Great to see this classic bird is based at Southend along with its sister. I tracked its journey to Cardiff then it flew to just off the south coast of the Isle of Wight circling many times at low altitude dealing with a spill probably. I remember when there were loads of 727s here for maintenance in the 90s along with 707s this jet is over 40 years old and one of the last produced
